As we approach our new season, Crossroads is responding in even greater ways to this imperative to "know God" and "understand that He is Lord"...keeping ourselves from developing any strange ideas about Him. We’ve looked closely at almost 30 years of being a church and doing church. We’re preserving the very best of those first 3 decades and pouring them into a new mold, a new expression that includes the wonderful provisions of the Holy Spirit within the Body Of Christ.
Biblical Engagement & Christian Doctrine (B.E.C.D) is our response to the marriage of the word of God amongst the community of believers. This weekly 90 minute experience on Wednesday nights will bring us all into one room to sit in stillness before the word, sit under the teaching of the word, sit in reflection of the word spoken and sit among the members of this holy assembly in small groups, bringing our open and vulnerable selves to a place of equal footing under the authority and governance of the Holy Spirit.
Disciple makers with deep souls who are word-centered have enlisted in this new mold/expression, willfully coming alongside those who want to deeply “behold their God” (Is 40). They sit among you every time we gather but are now going to stand before you and instruct us on how to obey every command Christ has given us (Matt 28) as they too are learning to know and obey the whole of scripture.
We’re kicking off a new season. God understands seasons. He gave them to us. He understands that in these seasons, some things tank out and need to be rebuilt. When its rebuilt, its also refueled and revitalized. The Holy Spirit is doing this. Its in this place of holy assembly that God wants to make himself known with his key signature: “I am with you.”
